Hi! I’m Jess Miller - Founder of SLD

As far back as I can remember, I have been obsessed with warm, organized and inviting spaces. As the daughter of a contractor, my parents indulged me with accent walls and storage solutions to my heart's content. Picture this, a 10 year old girl with a hunter green accent wall, a. purple and green bedspread with the frilly pillows and custom shelves for all the books, toys and nicknacks one kid could collect. It was the 90’s y’all, don’t hate on that classic color combo!

From there my spaces would get rearranged, redecorated and reorganized regularly. whew!

Moving off to college and then into my first apartment, friends often said, “your place is so homey” ,“you’re so organized” or “where’d you find that?” over and over. Moving, organizing & styling became one of my favorite pastimes, and let me tell you- there was a stretch of time that I was moving EVERY year. So you could say I got pretty good at it. AND to really drive the point home, I was the one who would paint accent walls in rental properties and would be kicking myself come move out day - there I was, painting it back to boring… but ready to tackle the new place.

Finally, I graduated to becoming a homeowner and got to put my skills to the ultimate test. Designing and staging our custom dream home, with my sweet husband’s help, of course. (He’s actually really good at it y’all). And let me just say, we went for it! With all the accent walls and storage solutions one could think of. This was it, I was - never. moving. again. (Famous last words.)

Once finished with my own home, I started helping friends and family in their spaces. I was on a roll and I had found my niche! Sadie Love Design was born.

Fast forward 2 years where God’s plan for us was greater than the plan we had for ourselves. There we were, RELOCATING packing up our personal items and selling that dream house - storage solutions, decorations, custom furniture and all.

We were starting over in a new city 5 hours away. By this time, I figured, hey!
I’m a pro! We found ourselves in a semi-custom (inventory) home in DFW, and it was up to us to put our LOVE into it. So we got to work!

Here we are today, being creative with our storage solutions and customizing the laundry room to make it work for us and our fur babies! We’re making this builder grade home feel ‘homey’ one project at a time. It’s a work in progress. We have a long wish list, and I’m still reorganizing spaces and maintaining the kitchen pantry as needed. But it’s home, and we LOVE it!

Which leads me to this next chapter. Where I want to share my passion and what I’ve learned by helping my neighbors in the DFW community LOVE the homes they’re in. Whether it’s a new, new to you, or a home that’s ready for refresh, I’m here to help.

I love sharing my gifts with friends, family and neighbors. It’s such a blessing to be able to provide peace of mind while helping others create spaces they LOVE. My prayer for the community is for everyone to have that wonderful feeling of loving the spaces they call home.
